Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about our engine oils? It might be answered here. You can always get in touch with our team with any questions you have.

What makes your oil better than all the
others on the market?

The quality of the base oils we use — which are 100% virgin — and the blending and building methods we use. There are three main components to the quality of our oils and lubricants.

Boss Lubricants are:

  • Produced from 100% virgin base stock oil. Not recycled.
  • Hot blended — the gold standard in blending oil.
  • Over Treated — we build our oil above and beyond minimum requirements.

about how we create our oils and lubricants.

What benefit does a better oil have for my car?

The oil you use in your engine works to regulate its temperature, which ensures that no parts or elements of it overheat while you’re driving. The oil also works to lubricate parts, making them work more efficiently and preventing wear. So, the better oil you use, the better job it does. When it does a better job, it means your parts are kept in even better condition.

Boss Lubricants’ customers say they  get a longer lifespan from their parts, longer service intervals, and better fuel economy.

How can a higher quality oil save me money?

We like to look at our oil as an investment in your car, machinery, or equipment. By investing in the highest quality  oils and lubricants possible you can seriously increase the lifespan of your parts, save on servicing, and save on fuel.

My car is just to get from A to B, will your specialised oil be worth it?

If you’re wanting to take extra special care of your car’s parts and see some better fuel economy, then yes, definitely. There’s no harm in using a regular oil at a more standard price, but as the saying goes: look after your car and it will look after you. In the larger picture of car maintenance, trying to save money by buying a lower quality oil is counter productive. The cost of a premium quality oil is often the least expensive part of good vehicle maintenance.

Why is changing my oil so important?

The oil used in engines, machinery, and plants is there to keep your parts lubricated and to protect your engine from damage. However, as your oil sits there over time, it will often get some dirt or debris in it and become dirty. While this is totally normal, it makes the oil less effective and means it can’t do its job quite as well.

So, changing your oil is really important to keep clean oil and a healthy machine.

Can I use your engine oil to maintain my farming equipment?

Yes you can! We even build oils specifically for farming equipment. We know our farming customers have tractors, trucks, and different machines that they’ve invested in and that are essential to their livelihood. So, of course, you want a really high quality oil to keep it as healthy as it can be.

Can I mix your oil with a regular oil?

If you’re driving a regular car that’s simply to go from A to B, then topping up an old, different branded oil with a Boss Lubricants oil should be okay. We certainly do not recommend mixing these oils to make them go further or using two different kinds of oils in performance cars or machinery.

Do you supply wholesale oils to workshops?

We absolutely do. Get in touch with our team to discuss your workshop’s needs and we’ll personalise a wholesale order for your workshop.

Where is your oil created?

Our oil is sourced, blended, and packaged right here in Australia.
